We’re excited to announce the launch of Highway Ventures in Bentonville, Arkansas! Over the next five years, we aim to build 10 companies, creating high-paying technology jobs throughout the state.
At Highway Ventures, we focus on developing advanced mobility companies, aiming to tap into the regional mobility innovation and access.
Thanks to a generous $1.5 million grant from the Walton Family Foundation, awarded to VentureWell, an innovation nonprofit, we've established Highway Ventures in Arkansas.
We are excited to launch Highway Ventures in this region. It offers the perfect setting for an advanced mobility studio, with robust support from corporations, investors, and universities.
We take a novel approach to building companies by leveraging intellectual property (IP) and technology licensed from federal research labs. With the U.S. government's projected expenditure of over $200 billion on research and development in 2024, we see a huge opportunity to harness this innovation to build impactful businesses.
Before launching Highway Ventures, our team was deeply engaged in commercializing federal lab technologies. It was through this experience that we identified both the challenges and opportunities of taking technology from the lab to the marketplace.
Successfully commercializing lab technology demands the right mix of technology, talent, and capital. We believe that by tapping into the vast intellectual capital produced by federal research labs and combining it with the opportunities available in Northwest Arkansas, we can create a powerful engine for economic growth and job creation.
